Trapper’s Cabin - Rental on the Cowichan River
The Cowichan River rushing by as you sleep. Birds in the trees above a salmon spawning creek surrounded by lush green foliage. Step out onto the covered deck and light yourself a fire. Sip your morning coffee and prepare for a challenging day of Fly fishing. Sound inviting?
This is a "TRAPPERS” Cabin - very rustic and not too many amenities but very cozy, peaceful and private.
Located on private property outside of Lake Cowichan, on Vancouver Island, BC. You are literally feet from the Cowichan river and just steps away to fish and hunt or hike and mountain bike on the Trans Canada Trail. How much easier could it get? It’s easy to ‘get back to nature’ here.
SOME THINGS TO KNOW
Based on double occupancy:new policy as of Aug 24, 2011
2 night minimum.
The rate is $50 per night based on double occupancy. There is a $10 fee per extra person per night.
There is no running water but the river is only feet away. We supply water for dishes, washup etc. but you should bring your own drinking water for safety reasons.. There are tables and chairs inside and out.
There is some electricity but don't expect to plug in your motorhome. There is a two burner propane campstove for your use. There are various pots and fry pans but no dishes or cuttlery. There are two twin bunks above with foam. Wood stove inside the cabin as well as outside on a large covered deck. We do supply some dry firewood but depending on how big or how many fires you like, you can bring your own as well or you can purchase a box for $10 each[12-15 pcs]. Sorry there’s no flush toilet, however we have a MENS and LADIES biffy. The cabin can be reached by any type of vehicle.
This cabin is presented as a quiet place to ‘get away’... therefore it is adult orientated. If your idea of a get-away is to party thats great, but this is not the place for you. Due to the numerous problems with animals, [allergies, hair etc.] we ask that you don’t bring yours.
Swimming in the Cowichan River is very nice but you should have runners or water shoes as the bottom of this section has bigger rock and gravel.
Check-out is at 11am and Check-in is no earlier than 12 noon.
We do appreciate any comments be they good or bad so we can continually work to make the "TRAPPERS CABIN" a unique and memorable experience for you.
The LAMBS.
